Introduction

Hey everyone, this is Loren from Donut Team and welcome to a very exciting Tuesday Topics!

Today, we're launching a read-only alpha version of Mod Bakery, our long-awaited mod sharing platform for The Simpsons: Hit & Run.

Mod Bakery Read-Only Alpha

That's right, today we're launching an early version of Mod Bakery we've dubbed the Read-Only Alpha!

This read-only version does not, as you might expect, allow adding new releases via the website. It does, however, serve as an early demonstration of our vision for the platform's interface and the future of sharing SHAR mods.

It leverages the new Donut Team API we rolled out last week to retrieve release information from our database, amongst other things.

Mod Bakery may only be in alpha right now but we are aiming for it to be the future of sharing and discovering mods for The Simpsons: Hit & Run.

Starting today, Mod Bakery will be the home of all of our releases as well as the various curated community releases that were previously available via this website.

Adding releases is still a manual process for now, hence the read-only nature of this launch, but we are aiming to add all of the tools and forms necessary for creators to add releases in the coming months. Stay tuned for that!

Naturally, we are very interested to hear your feedback and suggestions on this early version and you can provide those on the Mod Bakery Read-Only Alpha: Feedback & Suggestions thread.

Global Navigation

The above alpha is also the first Donut Team site to use our new global navigation bar!

This navigation bar is, naturally, still under development as well but we aim to incorporate all of your favorite features from the forum's navigation bar into it and then deploy it across all of our websites for a nice, consistent navigation experience.

Conclusion

Thanks for reading another one of our Tuesday Topics posts! See you again next week.
