Lucas' Simpsons Hit & Run Mod Launcher 1.20.2, Road Rage Returns 1.2.3 and more are now available

Hey everyone, today we're releasing Lucas' Simpsons Hit & Run Mod Launcher 1.20.1 and SHAR MP 19.

We're also releasing a few mod updates to take advantage of a new hack introduced in this version:
  • Demonstration Mod 3.0.1
  • Donut Team Event Cars & Characters 3.0.1
  • Road Rage Returns 1.2.2

Changelog for Lucas' Simpsons Hit & Run Mod Launcher 1.20.1

General

  • Added an "Alpha" property to "Colour" settings in a mod's Meta.ini.
  • Made the Mod Launcher check if your mod's Meta.ini was updated since it was loaded when compiling.

Localization

This version adds 4 new language strings that language packs will need to be updated to include.

These strings are used when compiling a mod whose Meta.ini was modified since it was loaded.

A new template language (Template_1.20.1.xml) was published on this page including these new strings at the end of the file.

Hack: Aspect Ratio Support

Fixed an issue where the "Movie Letterbox Colour" setting let you pick an alpha.

Fixed an issue where the "Colour" setting let you pick an alpha.

Hack: Override Shader Parameters

Added this new hack. This allows you to override any parameter in a shader from an XML file including ones that are normally forced on such as "2SID" (2-sided).

Changelog for Demonstration Mod 3.0.1

General

  • Now requires version 1.20.1 of the Mod Launcher.
  • Now requires Override Shader Parameters.

Levels

  • Added an inside out cube that is allowed to be 1-sided with the new hack to demonstrate it.

Missions

  • L1M2: Reduced the amount of traffic cars you need to destroy to 2.
  • L1M2: Reduced the amount of police cars to 1.

General

  • Now requires version 1.20.1 of the Mod Launcher.
  • Now requires Override Shader Parameters.

Cars

  • Added phonebooth stats for the Christmas Sedan.

Characters

  • Fixed an issue where Bart and Lisa's Halloween outfits were invisible.
  • Improved the look of the ghost outfits by making their shaders 1-sided.
    • Due to technical limitations, the outfits are still 2-sided and look wonky in clothes shops. They look fine ingame though!

General

  • Now requires version 1.20.1 of the Mod Launcher.
  • Now requires Additional Script Functionality.
  • Now requires Custom Trigger Actions.
  • Now requires Override Shader Parameters.
  • Added support for being enabled alongside the 3D Phone Booth Previews mod.

Cars

  • Added the Happy New Years car to Krusty's shop in Level 3.
  • Restored the toon shading on cars from the original Road Rage game.
    • This was also added to several cars that don't have it in the original game including Burns' Limo and the Nuclear Bus.
    • Due to technical limitations, this effect is removed from car shop models.
  • Restored the original lightweight traffic cars and disabled entering them.

Levels

  • General: Changed the names of the Level 2 and 3 zones.
  • Level 2: Grandpa is now a suppressed driver.
  • Level 3: Adjusted the position of a phonebooth near the Stadium.
  • Level 3: Krusty is now a suppressed driver.

Missions

  • L1M0: Bart now gets added to your car after destroying his.
  • L1BM1: Fixed an issue where the mission briefing art was incorrect.
  • L2M7: Increased all timers by 15 seconds.
  • L2M7: Dropzones are now used instead of the Lawnmower and Chainsaw before you reach their respective locations.
  • L2M7: Flipped the carstart locator when starting the mission around to face towards where you need to go.
  • L2M7: Reduced the Nuclear Bus' health by 33%.
  • L2M7: Fixed the Nuclear Bus' shadow.
  • L2M7: Made the stage music stay on when getting of the car to talk to Snake.
  • L2M7: Updated an objective to say "Homer's Car" instead of "Homer's Family Sedan".

Hey everyone, turns out we accidentally had a somewhat severe issue with the new hack so we're releasing another small update to fix that up.

We're also updating a couple of the mods again to correct some unrelated issues there.

General

Updated the Mod Launcher's copyright year to 2019.

Hack: Override Shader Parameters

Fixed an issue where "2SID" was being disabled on certain shaders the game dynamically created causing certain things to appear invisible such as smoke from damaged vehicles and the coin sparkle.

Cars

  • Fixed an issue where the Happy New Years Car had Krusty's legs modelled into it (a remnant of Road Rage).
  • Fixed an issue where the Happy New Years Car lacked a steering wheel.
  • Fixed an issue where the Husk didn't have any carsounds.

Missions

Updated the objective text in L1M2 to instruct you to destroy 2 cars instead of 3.
Question: could you maybe make RRR compatible the 3D Phone Booth Previews mod? That would be cool.
