1. They wanted to copy the same style they used for Simpsons road rage that uses roofless cars in the same way Crazy Taxi did. This is why the family sedan and the 70s sports car ha

1. They wanted to copy the same style they used for Simpsons road rage that uses roofless cars in the same way Crazy Taxi did. This is why the family sedan and the 70s sports car has no roof.
2. They liked the idea of seeing the player driving the vehicles especially when there were animations that were used when completing objectives. They never did this for the traffic cars as the roof wasnt separated from the rest of the car.
3. It was used as a workaround to make it look like the driver's heads weren't poking out of the roof.
