Tried it, and nope. No change at all, still just goes Not Responding upon the window appearing.

fucken did it For anyone reading this who hasn't played this mod yet, play it. It's an absolute blast to play, it's challenging, but not unfair (except for how extremely brutal the races can be, but that can be beaten by learning). 10/10 mod.
