Introduction
Donut Team has a large and diverse community spanning the DT Forum, Mod Bakery, and our official Discord server.
Everyone participating in the community, including our Staff Members, is expected to follow our Terms of Service as well as the rules and recommendations listed below.
Rules
These are rules that must be adhered to when participating in the Donut Team community.
Rule 1: No harassment, bullying or bigotry
Donut Team is a place for everyone. We are not a place that welcomes attacks on marginalized or vulnerable groups of people. Donut Team shall remain free of harassment, bullying, and threats of violence for as long as we exist.
Users who share or promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be permanently barred from our platforms.
This also applies to incidents that did not happen on Donut Team's platforms.
Rule 2: No content manipulation
Content manipulation is prohibited in the Donut Team community.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Spamming
- Vote manipulation
- Ban evasion
Users who manipulate content in the aforementioned ways may be permanently barred from our platforms on a first offense.
Rule 3: No inappropriate subjects
Community Members should refrain from discussing things such as politics, religion, other controversial political subjects (Gun Control, Vaccines, Climate Change, et.) or controversial current events (COVID-19).
Users who share or promote content that goes against the Appropriate Subjects guideline will be warned. Repeat offenders will receive an account suspension or account termination.
Please be aware Donut Team will periodically make announcements regarding current events. If you disagree with the sentiment we share, you are invited to talk about them in that discussion thread only. However, your right to participate in that discussion thread will be revoked if your post creates unrest or is used to share bigotry or hate content.
Rule 4: Respect the privacy of others
Respect each and every person's right to privacy. You may not share someone's personal or confidential information without their consent.
In addition to that, you are not permitted to use someone's personal information, photos, or media in an attempt to harass or bully them. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Creating memes, image macros or image edits of anyone else's personal media without permission of the original author.
- Using someone's profile information, post or other public data to attack someone.
Rule 5: No alternate accounts
Members of the Donut Team community are allowed one (1) account.
Users found to have more than one account with us will have their alternate accounts terminated and further action taken against their main account, depending on community standing.
Rule 6: No impersonation
Impersonation of any person or entity within our community is prohibited.
Rule 7: No unacceptable content
Any content that falls under the Forbidden Content section of our Terms of Service is prohibited.
Rule 8: Be courteous when self-promoting
Within our community, you are welcome to share things you've created as long as your content is posted in the correct location and is not forbidden by Rule 7.
We do, however, ask that you please try not to derail and existing topic or discussion in order to promote your content.
Additionally, be prepared to accept feedback on anything you share from other users. If you cannot accept both positive and negative feedback, please refrain from sharing your content.
Recommendations
These are additional recommendations when participating in our community.
Use caution when sharing personal information
Donut Team does not require any of its users to share their personal information.
We leave it up to each user to determine what information they would like to be public.
In the interest of user privacy, we suggest users take caution when sharing personal information.
Language
Donut Team allows people from all backgrounds to participate in the community.
However, we feel it is worth noting that the Donut Team community is largely English-speaking and, as a result, we ask that you try to use English when possible.
If English is not your native language, translation services such as Google Translate may bridge the gap with the community at large for you.
Additionally, swearing is not explicitly banned but Rule 1 applies for any slur that can be directed at a person or persons.
Enforcement
Should a user be found to be in violation of Rule 1, their account will be terminated.
Should a user be found to be in violation of Rule 2, their account may be terminated depending on the severity of the offense.
Should a user be found in violation of any other rules, the following flow of actions will be taken:
- First offense: A warning will be issued.
- Second offense: A 7-day ban will be issued.
- Third offense: A 30-day ban will be issued.
- Fourth offense: A 60-day ban will be issued.
- Fifth offense: A 180-day ban will be issued.
- Final offense: A permanent ban will be issued.
Additionally, repeat violations of the same rules may result in a harsher ban being given than otherwise described by the above list.
Updates to these guidelines
Donut Team reserves the right to update the community guidelines at any time.
Upon being updated, users will be notified.
