Can't connect to multiplayer, period. Anyone know how to fix this?

It automatically sets itself to another port which is 65535, and I don't have a vpn. I have tried reinstalling and everything but nothing works. Edit : I was messing around and found that resetting it fixed it. Dumb luck I guess. Another Edit : I see no one else around when I play. Is this normal?
