I just remade the entire mod so it includes a bunch of fixes for the game as a whole, instead of just being focused on cars. Check it out if you're interested. (I kept a car-only version too, if you'd rather have that)

Yeah, I'd imagine that mission is confusing for a number of people. I think the devs were trying to go for a "search level to find the hidden truck" type of mission, which would explain the lack of arrows and the game spawning you nowhere near it. It is a bit complicated to get the hang of, as it's basically coding.
