Donut Mod does not hold back other tools or updates, if it did you wouldn't have received 21 mod launcher updates, several tool updates/releases, several new hacks, Road Rage Returns 1, 2, and 3, several events, Card...

In the mod launcher go "Open..." then "Screenshots" and youll see all of them. Then you can open them with windows photo viewer or paint to look at them.

I don't know what would be causing that but for now you can try disabling the update check to see if it helps work around the issue.
