Tuesday Topics #63: Getting Back Into It

Loren rambling a bit about getting back into modding.

Hey everyone, this is Loren from Donut Team and welcome to another Tuesday Topics.

Today, I'd like to ramble a little bit about getting back into modding and how that's been.

Getting Back Into It

It's no secret that we have been relatively quiet regarding our modding projects for a long while now. This has been for a myriad of reasons but the main one is probably just real life getting in the way and making it difficult to line up free time and motivation.

We have mentioned us discussing and planning Donut Mod 4's third level here and there on Tuesday Topics but we still have nothing to show for it. Does that mean the project is dead? No, it does not. Will it still be a while yet before it's released? Yeah, probably. Unfortunate, but what can you do?

That said, we have been working on a much smaller scale project recently, unrelated to Level 3, just to re-grease the creative gears and get things going again. This project has actually been a jolly good time to work on and has seen contributions from myself and several other members of the team. It's also been a nice refresher on collaboration and also getting a lot of the team up to speed with using version control to better keep track of changes to the project.

It's nothing too big, so don't get too excited or anything, but we are proud of it and it has special meaning to us so we still can't wait to show you all sometime in the next couple of weeks, probably. We actually wanted to have this ready for release today but it's not quite ready yet so we've pushed it back a bit to make sure we can work in everything we want to.

That's all for this week. The aforementioned secret project was going to be our main point of discussion today but alas, it needs a bit more time in the oven. All that said, I hope you are at least intrigued and we'll see you again in a couple weeks.
