Donut Team is moving away from Twitter to focus on platforms that better align with our values and community.

As of today, we have deleted our Twitter account(s). This decision follows a brief return to the platform earlier this year, which we used as an experiment to understand firsthand the changes under Elon Musk’s leadership and to see if the platform is still viable as independent creators.

Unfortunately, our observations confirmed that the current direction of Twitter suppresses creativity starkly and contrasts with the core values we champion.

Under the new ownership, Twitter has increasingly become a platform where bots, racism, homophobia and xenophobia are prevalent, creating an environment that is neither healthy nor constructive. We believe our community deserves a space that upholds respect and inclusivity, which is why we are refocusing our social media efforts on platforms that align with these principles.

Additionally, from reviewing our analytics, it appears that when we initially rejoined, Twitter intentionally boosted our posts in hopes that we'd remain on the platform. However, soon after we noticed a downwards trend that indicated that we were being suppressed; likely related to sharing off-site content such as YouTube videos, our blog posts or other content.

No person or platform is without its faults or mistakes; we've made plenty in our decade in existence. But by continuing to share and post on this platform, we would be implicitly endorsing its values and practices, something we can not do in good conscience.

As of today, any post claiming to be Donut Team on Twitter is unofficial, impersonation or otherwise fake. Please be aware of this if you choose to continue using this platform. We would take the initiative to remove these bad actors, unfortunately Elon Musk has terminated the moderation team that would act on these reports; which is why several staff member's have had accounts impersonate them.

We invite our community to continue the conversation and follow our updates on our website, Discord, Mastodon, Bluesky, or YouTube community.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
