Introduction
Hey everyone, this is Loren from Donut Team and welcome to yet another Tuesday Topics.
Today, I'd like to talk a little bit about our tenth anniversary as a modding team and what we have done to celebrate it.
Our 10th Anniversary
We began Donut Team, known back then as the longer "The Project Donut Team", back in March of 2013. It's a little unclear exactly what date marks our begining but it seems to be somewhere between March 13th and March 19th of that year.
To commemorate this occasion, we published a YouTube video for the first time in quite a while. This video is our first one edited by Sparrow and she did a wonderful job putting it together!
This video is short and features me talking about my feelings on this occassion and reassuring that Donut Mod 4 is still happening, even if it's been a while.
It also features a trailer for our brand new (kind of!) mod release, Project Donut: Anniversary Edition, with a wonderful trailer put together by our friend, Fluffy , for old times sake.
It was exceptionally fun to put together a video again and we encourage you to check it at the link below!

Project Donut: Anniversary Edition
Speaking of this mod, I'd like to talk a bit about the development of PD:AE.
We decided to do this project about a month ago when we were discussing our anniversary. After some time, we decided what better way to commemorate it than to revisit our first project with the knowledge we have now!
Using our much more refined skills, we were able to make a whole slew of improvements to the mod and make it a much more polished experience while retaining the original spirit of it. It makes use of many features that didn't exist at the time it was released such as:
- 3D Phone Booth Preview Support: See the classic cars in glorious 3D as you make your decision on what to hit the road in.
- Custom Dialogue Character Codes: Used for some special characters you can find throughout the map!
- Custom Traffic Support: Used to expand the number of traffic cars, allowing more variety and some old traffic vehicles we made to shine without crowding out other vehicles.
- Increased Reward Limits: Used to add a plethora of cars and costumes from throughout Donut Mod's history to the shops!
- Mod Settings: There are lots of mod settings in the Mod Launcher to customise your experience and tailor it to how you like to play!
This project also makes extensive use of the LuaP3DLib project created by EnAppelsin , Josh / Proddy and Lucas Cardellini . It primarily helps with dramatically reducing the mod's file size by dynamically modifying P3D files from the base game on the fly. It also helped facilitate the revival of the Autumn and Winter themes, which would have been a mess to implement otherwise.
All in all, we are quite proud of this release and will be taking various lessons learned from creating it forward as we work on our existing mod projects as well as new ones in the future.
We encourage you to check this out as well at the link below!

Old Video Playlists
In light of our 10 year anniversary, I have been looking through our back catalog of YouTube videos.
A lot of our old videos have gone private over time, mostly from me beliving they contained outdated information or that they just weren't very good and shouldn't be featured anymore.
This, however, is a mindset I've definitely started to move away from in favor of better preserving our history. I certainly feel it was a mistake for me to delete many of our old Project Donut videos from 10 years ago and I'm now working to avoid the same fate for many old Donut Mod 3 videos.
Starting today, the vast majority of our back catalog can be viewed again via the following playlists:
- Old Donut Mod 3 Bump Gags
- Old Donut Mod 3 Previews
- Old Donut Team Events & Mods
- Old Donut Team Status Updates
These videos still remain unlisted to avoid cluttering the channel but they are now accessible again instead of being hidden away.
I also prefixed all of their titles with [Old]
to avoid people sharing them as though they are representing new content from us. Otherwise, there are no changes.
We hope you enjoy looking through our sometimes interesting, sometimes cringy back catalog again!
Conclusion
That's all for this week. As always, we appreciate your continued support and are very happy to see the positive response to our 10th anniversary video. We are more motivated than ever to keep making cool content for you all. :)
